Brief journeys - In the churchyard

[click to embiggen if you'd like a closer look]

Same day, same walk, same village, different colour palette.

I love how that happens. My camera and I do so enjoy visiting a country churchyard.

The earliest bits of this building were built in the 15th century and it has been lovingly maintained, occasionally ransacked, and regularly added to through all of the hundreds of years since. Nothing creates luscious texture in a building quite like time, does it?

Since starting a blog I love to photograph everything during my wanderings. It certainly makes one notice details one probably would have missed before. I love all your photo montages and this one in particular. As you say, time creates luscious textures.

Kendalee,
Your comments made me feel so good! Thank you.

Love this mosaic (I'embiggened'it!) - your repetition of diamonds is powerful. Do you really have clematis blooming right now?

I wish I could follow you around and see what you see. I am usually so overwhelmed with the big picture I forget to look at the gorgeous details. Of course that is what makes you an incredible artist!

I love the colours of the building and the flower who's name escapes me! It seems you had a lovely walk.

I've come back to this mosaic.  It's on my mind when walking the dogs.  I think it has a nice balance to it and would be lovely displayed on a wall.
