"In England's green and pleasant land"
Jerusalem
William Blake
(1757-1827)
I had another mosaic that I was going to post today, a story board based on a lovely dream I had recently. But I travelled down to London for a meeting this morning on the train and I was struck, as I often am when I move across this country, by how lush it is, and by how much green space there is despite its relatively small size. I love green. Apparently there are more variants of green than any other single colour. I'm not sure if this is true but if it is, today as I moved through this landscape at speed I felt that I saw many of those hues and shades.
It was beautiful. It is beautiful.
So, I'll share the dream mosaic another day and today, instead, I'd like to pay tribute to my current island home. It really is a green and pleasant land.
And perhaps I should appreciate it more.
Happy Monday!

my heart just skipped a beat when I laid eyes on all that gorgeous green.
This mosaic is absolutely stunning, and your country is at the top of my list. It always has been, actually. We have ties to Cornwall (Trerice Manor), from WAY BACK WHEN.., and I dream of a visit. Someday....this mosaic only makes me want a visit more:).
gorgeous! I think green is overtaking blue as my favorite color!!!
one of my favored colors ~your shades of green are inspiring ~elk
yummy...tart and crisp, refreshing and lively! i love green today!
WOW! That may be the most beautiful mosaic I have ever seen! And I love green so much, you captured my heart with that piece.
see, this is one of the things that i absolutely LOVE about Britain. It is just so green. And I know what you mean about seeing all its shades as the train whizzes past. love it!
and very intrigued about the storyboard mosaic of your dream! can't wait :)
OH how I love green too. It is my favorite by far!! How beautiful.
Here in the southern US...things are starting to dry up and look a little brown. How wonderful to see such green!!
suzy
Kenda, I "walked" down to the bottom end of the drive way this morning. I really just needed to get out and I stood with my eyes closed, looking up into the sun, feeling the wind and listening to the river.
I sent an sms to Calvin saying: "I love this green country we call home."
We are blessed to be steeped in green are we not?
VERDANT! Beautiful.
Ps... pop over sometime.... I have a quirky giveaway you might like :)
Delicious greens! Refreshing- I could drink this post!
(Aaaaargh!!! I typed a long comment only to have it all disappear ... and now I'm trying to remember what I said ...) Gorgeous mosaic! I am nominating you the Queen of Mosaics! (I may have done so before, in which case you may deem yourself doubly queened.) A bit of synchronicity - I have just finished watching a movie called Jerusalema (about a Hillbrow gangster - it was really quite good and gave a bit of insight into the lifestyle) and then I saw your quote from Jerusalem. Of course the Jerusalema in the movie was not green at all, but grey - Hillbrow grey ...)
I see some sort of jewelry presentation for my 100 Celebration...maybe? I wonder if we could work mosaics into this idea?
you have such a way with rounding up color! GORGEOUS selections!
Oh, this is beautiful. Green is my favorite color. Loved, loved this mosaic.
I'm green with envy...
