I failed!

Less than a week after I posted
this, and during a spending hiatus that started less than two months ago, I caved yesterday afternoon and bought these - two jewel red pressed-glass stemmed plates and a big-old-knuckle-duster-bit-o'-bling! Abject failure on both fronts.

I turned my back for only a moment and Amy took charge of the purse-strings. I blame her. But, truly, I'm not tooooo mad at her. The plate set is just too gorgeous and something I've lusted after for a while. And there they were, on sale. Massively on sale. Under £10 for BOTH. How could we resist? And while collecting the earrings that I'd ordered for the wedding (wedding goodies don't count under the spending ban - necessary expenditure) it just seemed too cruel to leave this ring when all it clearly wanted to do was get out in the daylight to make rainbows. We liberated it, Amy and I. It seemed like the right thing to do.

How is it possible that a few bits of coloured glass can make a girl (or two) so happy?

P.S. Happy, happy 4th of July to my American friends and family! I hope your day is fully of sunshiny rainbows too.

Yay for liberating bling! If it makes you feel better I failed too. Came home today with an antique Ashanti stool (such a bargain).....and a Punu mask (even bigger bargain)... after promising myself I wouldn't buy another artefact unless it was exactly what I was searching for. Buyers remorse has set in.

Oh my goodness - that ring is just TOO, TOO gorgeous! I hope you and Artsy Amy don't fight about it - call me in as a judge should dissent arise, and I will solve the problem quickly for you!

Sounds like a bargain to me Kendalee! That ring is gorgeous! I bought two items for myself yesterday as well. I think it's ok now and then!

Boy do I understand coloured glass and sparkle. I would have sold my country or a bit of both.

HAH -- if that's a failure, then girl, you just keep failing! Color makes my world too, and the wonderful thing is that color is one of the perks of living in this beautiful world! (You can go back to being "successful" at anytime ;). Here's to a beautiful wedding for your friend Amy, and are you going to wear that scrumptious ring?

That's the blingiest bling I've ever seen!! I love it (I don't think I would have the self confidence to wear it though!!) You're right, it had to be liberated.
