Today I'm ticking off a few more things on my holiday to do list:
- Sleep beyond sunrise (a recent record of 5 consecutive hours)
- Wear pyjamas all day (is there any greater pleasure than changing into fresh pyjamas and snuggly socks for the day? Something SO deliciously decadent about this for me)
- Eat breakfast at lunchtime and lunch (leftovers from yesterday) for dinner
- Read (a Birthday present I've been looking forward to starting) and nap at will
- Start watching some of my saved and favourite movies and series on dvd...

If you enjoy a good period drama, as I do, this one can't be beaten. Superb story-telling, incredible actors and that production polish that the BBC do so well. It is a subtle, rich, emotional beauty of a piece. Almost 5 hours of it.
I saw this series when it ran on the BBC and was gifted with the dvds a little while ago. I do so love being able to watch a whole series in one sitting. It's like getting lost in a great book and staying up all night to read it to the end. Becoming an inhabitant (albeit in the role of observer) of that world for a little while. I'm about half way through and I've already laughed and cried. And that's a good sign.
I hope you're having a great time doing whatever's on your to do list for the days after Christmas...

(currently im in my snow pants at work)
i saw a preview for the cranford series on our local station and want to see it ever since. we dont get alot of awesome brit series here. it sucks!
what a great list of things to do over Christmas! xx
Oh Yes, I most certainly could get used to that sort of day! The snow is rapidly melting here, though still covered in white it is becoming sloshy, I fear we are headed for the ususal dark dreary rain and more rain for the next long time. Holiday was very quiet - nice...thoughts of you and wishing you the best of mince pies!! I have eated about a dozen, trying my best to get tired of them before they disappear for another year. I am nearly there! You would be proud!
Stay well and cosy and jammied!

Glad you enjoyed your Christmas. I'll look out for Cranford on iplayer, I hadn't realised there was a Christmas special on. I'm looking forward to watching the second series of Lark Rise to Candleford. I enjoyed the book many years ago and loved the first series. Just need to get the iplayer working again! I must admit I have been missing a good BBC period drama.
I'm trying not to eat my way through the mincepies too quickly.
Hope you manage to tick some more things off your list.

Every time you write and every time I read I realise why I feel that you are a kindred spirit. Pyjama days are a standard practice in my life. There is something decadent and reviving and just extraordinaire about a good pj day with a good book or dvd.
My holidays have been filled with good books, naps and just all things blessed. Glad that you are relaxing.
Much love,
C
