Festive White Out!

I have been wishing so hard for snow but alas, it looks like I'll be waiting at least one more year to enjoy my first White Christmas. Next year I might go to Scandinavia - it doesn't harm to load the dice sometimes, does it?

So. No snow. But this year, I'm going to create a little white-out of my own...

  • The past few months have been so busy and a bit bumpy, leaving me feeling tightly wound and fragile.
  • So I'm going to retreat to within the comfort of my own four walls for a bit, allowing for the option to take occasional long walks - in solitude - and perhaps release some pent up emotions...
  • I'm planning to sleep as much as I can, read my way through a mountain of delights, and perhaps not brush my hair much.
  • I hope to emerge with fewer sharp edges, able to see my way forward more clearly again, and to have renewed appreciation for the beauty and wonder that surrounds me every day.
As you might know, it's unusual for me to seek a world less colourful but all I see in the white space right now is peace and restoration. And that's a space I long to inhabit. Just for a day or two.

And while I'm there, I'm wishing you a special holiday filled with your chosen delights. A holiday spent in the way that makes you most deeply happy. Happy and content. To your core.

For each, this will take a unique shape - fleeting but beautiful.

I hope that it provides the soulfood you need to restore and re-energise in readiness for the new year, which promises to be another full of colour, beauty and adventure in our blogosphere.

And most of all I hope, that whatever shape yours takes, it brings you joy.

See you again soon...

your holiday retreat sounds just divine! I hope you get all that you wish for and more. I'm sending you some peaceful mojo across the ocean.

p.s. I'm curious about why that photo of the corner of the room is strangely calming to me?

Lovely 'Festive White Out' montage! I too am wishing for snow but it looks unlikely (although temps are set to drop quite a bit after Christmas so perhaps there's still hope...).
Have a good one!

Lovely thoughts. I hope your Christmas is everything you wish it to be, and more, and that you come back from it unwound and refreshed.
Take care, Lynne

Lala - cocoon is a great description! the forecast suggests there might be some snow nearer new year - yay! :o) xx
Lisa - thank you! i find the room corner soothing too. perhaps it works on the same principle as those flotation chambers - short-term sensory deprivation being calming in an over-stimulating world?
Suzanne - fingers (and toes) crossed! :)
ELK - thank you, lovely to 'meet' you :)
Lynne - to you and yours too

A beautiful mosaic! - white is a favourite colour with me - and it comes in all kinds of shades to match the mood and the moment. Hope you have some well-deserved peace and rest and emerge energized with newly-painted butterfly wings!
