Something Blue

A very sweet and special friend is getting married in July next year and has asked me to be her bridesmaid. I'm touched, delighted and incredibly honoured to be asked to do so. I love weddings. So joyful. So hopeful.

We'd been out on a few occasions already to try on wedding dresses and last weekend she bought "the one". I almost cried to see her in it. So beautiful.

This weekend we are looking for gowns for the bridesmaids and flower girls. She would like us to wear cobalt blue. So blue.

Apart from two pairs of denims, I have nothing blue in my wardrobe. Turquoise, yes. Teal, yes. Blue, no.  I know this is quite unusual - blue apparently polls as the favourite colour of more people than any other - and I do like it. It's just never been one of my colours for clothing.  So it's going to be fun to look for something that for me is a little different.  And, although I would wear it if she asked me to, at least it's not pink.  So relieved.

How exciting, and something to look forward to.
I love the blues in the mosaic.
I have quite a few blue garments, always have done. I used to wear bright colours from time to time though I seem to favour darker colours these days, must be an age thing. Must revert back and introduce more colour into my wardrobe.

Weddings can be so lovely - and how sweet to be chosen as a bridesmaid! I think the blues in your mosaic will all look fabulous with your red hair.

Thanks to all of you! It is something exciting to look forward to and any really good reason to buy a new dress is a lovely thing, isn't it? :o) I'll definitely show you what we settle on, although I feel we might be looking for a while to find just the right thing...
