Autumn is frail- like an elderly woman. Like me. You were in my thoughts all week end. I sold out at a show but while doing a demo made some flowers for you- one person wanted to buy them right there on the spot - I said "sorry, these are for a painted lady" She muttered something about "madness" and wandered away disgruntled. Now I am in a bind having nothing for the Christmas festival- must get cracking! LOVE your post, beautiful!
karina - thank you! you are so right, one just has to remember to look, and to see, the simple beauties... anairam - thank you! Aren't dandelions just so beautifully photogenic?! And I think one of the reasons I love them - as well as the fact that they are so symmetrical - is that they are SO delicate and transient. They always make me feel happy for some reason. claire - thanks for stopping by too - lovely to meet you. Your beautiful spring blossoms have a similar delicate feel to them... :) nadia - thank you! I agree - fall is so brief and feels like a snatched moment & all the more precious for it, isn't it? lisa - so true, for seasons and people I feel... I'm honoured that you like these pictures 'cause I'm always in awe of your photos - thank you! linda sue - there's a core of strength and enriched beauty in the frailty of fall (and older women) though isn't there? I think so anyway. Glad that the show went well and I am SO thrilled and excited about my specially made flowers! How lucky am I?! THANK YOU, SPECIAL YOU! bruceg - that made me laugh out loud. I had to watch it twice in a row and have bookmarked it for future blue days - brilliant - thank you!
Beautiful photos! I love those l-o-n-g autumn shadows you've captured in the first photo. The light, and shadows, specific to autumn are always magnificent...
sakurasnow - thank you suzanne! I love the autumn light too. It has a very particular glow doesn't it? And those long shadows are irresistible! lynne - Thank you for you kind thoughts. I'm still feeling a bit fragile but I know the wheel will turn... It always does. :)
The main things which seem to me important on their own account, and not merely as means to other things, are knowledge, art, instinctive happiness, and relations of friendship or affection.
Bertrand Russell
The aim of life is to live, and to live means to be aware, joyously, drunkenly, serenely, divinely aware.
