Sunny skies and thoughts of snowflakes

Okay, so I know those things don't usually go together (although often sunny skies follow snow, don't they?) but this morning it's feeling really wintry for the first time. It's cold, cold, cold.

The sky is crisp and blue and the ground is frosty, and this made me think of all things lovely about the colder days setting in:

Snuggling up with a good book, hot chocolate, cashmere wraps, creative time indoors... Lovely stuff.

I was also reminded of this online snowflake maker. I love this - like creating a monochromatic kaleidoscope image... And once you've designed your snowflake you can rotate it in 3D mode. Hours of fun. Well, minutes at least.

Happy Friday!

Oh, winter can be a very special time, I agree, but I think I am now ready for summer in our hemisphere! Tomorrow a hot sunny day is predicted - a glorious 28 degrees, and we are having a little braai to celebrate ....(only grilled halloumi for me, mind you!) Have a lovely weekend!

m.c.i.s - Thanks lala, looking forward to receiving your beautiful cards! :)
anairam - I hope the weather held for your braai... Sounds yummy! I think seasons are loveliest in relation to one another. That's why I like the times of change between them.
krissy - Thank you & wishing you a lovely chilly weekend too!
linda sue - I know what you mean and I wouldn't mind a few more barefoot days. We had SUCH a feeble summer here this year that it just doesn't seem quite right to be facing winter already! But it's definitely on its way and I have been wearing my boots for several weeks... :)
robyn - Thank you! That's a swap I'd happily make you! I LOVE Autumn but it's the looooooong bitterly cold winter that follows it that I'm not that keen on! I think I was designed to hibernate.
