I recently ordered a catalogue from this Swedish company - Gudrun Sjödén - and I then saw them posted on Style Discovery last week, which reminded to go back and have a proper look. Now that it's getting colder, I would like to invest in an extra layer or two for snuggling up in at the weekends.
So many reasons to love them:
- I love their individual, casual, layered look.
- I love that they use models of all shapes, sizes and ages.
- I love their green approach and the use of natural and luxury fabrics.
- I love the comfortable and flattering shape of their garments.
- I love the combination of patterns and the embroidered details.
- I love the folk ethnic feel of the look, which is right on trend now but something I've always loved. Witness one of my favourite coats...
The only problem really is deciding which of their lovely things I can't live without.

I stuck with examples of the neutrals and autumnal colours in this selection but I love the more brightly coloured palettes too - plum, turquoise, orange, and red. All gorgeous.
And I haven't even started on the home collection...

oh my..exactly my kind of stuff.
and yes, the all-ages models on 1st pic look beautiful.
so you got your lovely coat from there? Verrrry interesting.
Thanks for introducing them !
The embroidery is all gorgeous, I really need some warmer clothes too!
I love the layered look. I especially like the very top picture, right hand side, with the yellow boots, black stockings, purple skirt and black patterned top. And she wears a kopdoek! Love it! I wish I could mix colours like that - maybe I should try to be more bold ... Let us know what you decide on!
Looks lovely. I see they have an address in Stockholm, I may call in next month when I visit there for the first time. Love the colours they use.

holy moly, what a find.
i wouldn't even know where to begin to order - so much goodness!
mcis - happy to introduce them! I didn't get the coat from them but it's very similar to the stuff that they do - that folksy embroidered look. I've only had a tunic top from them before - that was actually very plain in design but made of beautiful jersey knit. This time I plan to go for something more decorated I think! :)
she's dressing up - I always LOVE a little embroidery! 'Specially if it looks hand worked... Lovely!
anairam - aren't those yellow boots awesome?! I love that black/purple/yellow combo too but also tend to err on the side of caution when mixing colours - especially those that "clash". And yet, here's the proof that it looks great! Bold is good it would appear! I will let you know what I settle on...
lynne - oooh how lucky to be able to go and touch and feel all the pretty goodies! Do let us know what the things are like if you have a chance to go when you're in Stockholm please? I love shopping online, but nothing beats being able to feel the fabrics too...
stephanie - my thoughts exactly when I first received the catalogue, which is why I've had to come back to it after a more sensible "what do I need" consideration of my wardrobe. Although I feel myself being overwhelmed with temptation all over again!
