I love spirals. They're a motif that I return to again and again. I love them in nature, I love them in architecture, I love them in art, I love them in any design really. It's an obsession, I acknowledge.
And I compulsively collect pictures of them. Over the course of the next few months I'll share some of my favourite spirally pictures.
I think this exquisite natural spiral shape and colouring is beautifully interpreted and reflected in these spiral staircases...

I love those staircase pics - I so much want to take a photograph like that, only, all the staircases I see are rectangularly shaped! (I love spirals too; when I doodle, there are always spirals somewhere in the picture ...)

anairam - i've always longed to live in a place that has a spiral staircase! It's still on my list but I suspect it's a nicer thought than reality - having to run up and down in circles... Probably not as romantic as it seems? I do wonder what spiral doodles mean? I do that too. Spirally doodles galore!

Lovely pics. It's reminded me of how I love the pattern of some rolled blankets I have on a shelf at the end of my passage! Same shape. I think I will have to do a post on it!
