Niece (just turned 4) and nephew (7), having exhausted the "I spy..." game for the moment, are encouraged to sing out from the back of the car when they see any birds or animals as we travel along. A snippet of the conversation:
"Sheep on the right... with little lambs. They are mostly twins."
"Cows on my side - I think they're those milk cows..."
"Look Mom, giraffes - a mommy and a daddy and a baby one."
"More sheep... with brown and black heads"
"Springbok!"
"Some moooore big sheep on my side..."
"That bush looks like a dinosaur but it's not really"
"I see ostriches - lots of ostriches. Kenda, do you know that the fathers have the black and white feathers?"
Yep, it suddenly struck me that this was not the sort of thing I'd be hearing if we were travelling the roads I'm usually journeying on an everyday, week day. Farms and game reserves here yield a different kind of roadside sighting. Quite normal for their everyday, week day though. I love that.

sounds positively perfect.
Wow. Seriously, that first image makes my mouth water - glorious. Of course, I do have a "thing" for giraffes! Lovely, dearie!
Wonderful images, Kenda! Love seeing the arty giraffe followed by the real thing.
Yes-I don't see too many giraffes on my travels!
