Brief journeys - transition zone

Sometimes, even when it's wet and grey, the best thing is my walk to and, especially, from work. I like the water. I like the mix of old and new buildings and brickwork. I like that the seasons are evident here, in the heart of the city.

And most of all, I like that sometimes it helps me shrug off the day.

Your photographs are so beautiful, as always. I love the last one especially. And I envy you your shiny shoes! Why do mine always look scuffed and badly cared for? (Because I am lazy, that's why.) I am pondering over your Unmasked post; I sense your distress, and so wish I can wave the magic wand and let the right things happen for you. Thinking of you - lots!

I like the walk to work. I so love the walk back :) Apart from the obvious reasons of having done with work and looking forward to sometime with my loves, it is a nicer time of the day, when it is starting to cool down and so, sometimes, I might take the walk back along the sea, which is just one street uot from my usual route home. beautiful colours of the autumn leaves here, btw.

I know what you mean about the walk to work-although I dont, but I miss that from when I used to cycle. My drive home is kind of lke that-but not as good!

If not for Dexter i doubt that i would walk so much in the "weather"...he forces me, he is good! Your photos are so clear and lovely, just like your writing. Just like you, Ms. Beauty behind the big leaf!

What a lovely walk, even in the wet. A great way to de-stress from work. I've taken some photos of leaves on the river, so pretty. I especially love the close up shot where you've got down low. I struggle with those, it's the getting up bit I struggle with.

I find that the rain makes everything more vibrant. I'm glad you enjoy the walk home, even in the rain.

I often take my time getting home, don't rush and take the long way back for the same reason you said- to shrug off the day. Awesome.

What beauty! Rain makes the gray world so shiny and bright. I so covet the colors of your autumn. And your photos could all hang in a gallery.

Walking is such a good way to sort out thoughts and remember what is important and what just doesn't matter. And you have a fine place to walk.

I love this sequence of photos - particularly the one of the wet leaves on the brick (street?). Walking is a wonderful destresser, and I need to do it more. Especially on a brisk, damp day!

Wonderful wonderful Kenda. Hope your spirits up again. I'm for sure thinking lots of you and hope it lifts your soul (even if it's just a bit).
Hugs D.
