Experience is never limited, and it is never complete;
it is an immense sensibility, a kind of huge spider-web of the finest silken threads suspended in the chamber of consciousness, and catching every air-borne particle in its tissue.
Henry James
(1843-1916)
Something that's struck me this week is that there's a big difference between navigating a web that you've spun yourself and trying to walk the non-sticky threads of a web someone else has constructed. Beautiful as it may be, there's always a feeling that one wrong step and either you'll fall off, or become too entangled and the spider will pounce. Still, sometimes it's necessary to venture into new territory to gather new experiences isn't it?
So, I think it's not so much a case of avoiding the web altogether but of not carrying too much baggage, keeping your wings ready to make good an escape if you need to, and treading the threads... lightly.
I hope you're navigating your week with care and carrying a light heart.

Beautiful picture and insightful musings. I feel like I am teetering precariously on a web these days.
I love those words today! I totally agree with you. I am learning to travel through my days with much less baggage and it feels so much better!
Have a great rest of the week!
I hear the voice of experience in the words of the first paragraph.
Ooo, what a fantastic shot of the spiderweb! Mmm
Interesting idea. My week is improving with the thought of the weekend, otherwise it has been quite hard!
Welcome back to the blogosphere! Well said in your post.
An outstanding and beautiful photo. The light was so perfect to capture that masterful engineering.
And I agree about dealing with another person's work. Even if it is a great design--sometimes it is difficult to pick up and carry it to the next step. Sometimes I just have to start over and use theirs as a template because theirs is not made to fit in my format.
Keep on Keeping On!
Very inspiring thoughts Kenda. For all my adult life I've struggled with being an employee of organisations, feeling as if change is all around me, change that I cannot control. It's getting better though, the closer I get to being self employed - it's giving me an escape route (and clause).
Love the photo.
So glad you are back on line!
Carefully navigating the web this week and feeling light hearted to boot.
Uh I needed this one and will keep it in mind the next week to come.
Great shot.
Beautifully said, my dear Kenda. I think I am perhaps using my wings right now to fly off the tangle of other webs... now I need to create my own.
i appreciate your metaphor and your glance at life today...
