It's how they make you feel that counts

Photograph something, a lot, in many different ways, even to the point of abstraction, until it becomes unrecognisable... notice how you respond to the images emotionally - how do they make you feel? It's how they make you feel that counts.

This, in essence, is the assignment for the week on the course I'm taking with lovely Maddie.

So, I pointed my camera at these once they'd died, and just before I threw them away. And here are just a few of the pictures I took - the blur is entirely due to my shaky hands and I've cropped them quite closely. The colours are as they came out of the camera.

How do they make you feel?

How do they make me feel?

I like them. The colours and textures appeal to me. There's something slightly sensual about them; something warm, luxurious, velvety. They make me want to take out my paints and smoosh some colours around on a canvas. To escape and yes, even hide out, where colour and creativity are all that require my attention for a little while. Where the working week can be sublimated, transformed into something more pleasant.

That's how they make me feel.

And so I'm very pleased it's almost the weekend. I might get to indulge that feeling for a few hours... that's my plan. And that makes me feel very happy.

Today, whatever you're up to, I hope you're feeling good. And I wish you a very lovely Friday!

They make me want to cuddle and bounce, become hungry for raspberry sorbet and merlot, a bit of chocolate and a nap...that's what they make me feel.

They make me feel all snug and warm like a child wrapped in a blanket. Half asleep, content and secure, or just waking from a beautiful dream. Thats how they make me feel; comfortable and happy. Happy Friday to you too.xxoo

I'm thinking Tai silk in crushed berry colours held to my cheek and travelling to places that smell of sandelwood and spices.
Happy Friday Kendalee.

Beautiful colours and the texture achieved by the motion - the blur - reminds me of that thing glimpsed oh so briefly and then gone. Elusive!

Linda Sue said it very well - that bit about the chocolate and merlot and raspberry especially appealed to me. Apart from that, they made me feel like wearing something totally extravagant and luxurious, something velvety and rich. BTW, take out those paints and smoosh them around! I want to see some smooshing going on!

I feel a little soothed by your shots, actually. I think this is a great exercise! Let me see...ah yes, I see a subject. For next week:).

Oh hi Kenda, simply love those pics. And your words say it all. They feel just the same to me too. I might dive into some old pics 'that never turned out good' in a way this is perfection.

Oh and yes they would look stunning printed on one of these big canvases.
Hope your weekend was perfect.
Hugs Dagmar

These photos make me think of parks and spring-it is the movement and the purple hues. It is lovely how they are suggestive of different things-beautiful abstracts.
