Winter in South Africa

Summer in the United Kingdom
The picture at the top landed in my inbox (a present from my sister to cheer up my day - she always knows just when I need it, I don't know how) on the very same day last week that I took the one at the bottom.
And it looks like that again today. There and here.
I'm just saying.
Edit: Okay, the sun must have sensed that I was about to become reeeeeally grumpy (not a pretty sight or fun to be around) and it showed its face just after lunchtime. Now I'm sitting in a gorgeous puddle of sunlight on my living room floor, with the doors wide open, soaking it in. Thank you weather gods, thank you!

Haha! This made me smile. It's so true though: how miserable is a bleak summer :)
You are "just saying" that even in a little bad weather there can be something lovely to see, and photograph! Of course, getting those cheery, sunny pics is sometimes disheartening! I'm in mid-Michigan, where weather is extremely fickle. I have been trying to get some photographs done for a class I'm taking, but the weather has been incredibly uncooperative. Oh well...we photograph anyway:). Have a lovely day.
Oh dear! It is sunny here is it sunny there now? Hope so! One of our parents at school, who is originally from Iraq, came out with this statement earlier in the week-
"One hour summer, one hour winter"- which we all liked!
Hi Kenda, hope the sun will stay with you untill it sets. And my all the grumpy you be gone by now ;-) Sorry to say but we really have bikini kind of weather. I'll send some more over for tomorrow. Here catch
Love that your sister senses your mood and that you were seeing parallel - what a wonderful bond.
And just think, if it weren't for the rain and gloom, you wouldn't be cherishing the pool of sunlight quite so much. Hope you had a little picnic on your floor (and wore a gorgeous flowing skirt)!
KENDALEE! You and your sister have a knack for knowing precisely what a person needs to cheer them up- what a gift!
The weather- they are saying "get used to it" we are on a 30 year cycle of this sort of extreme weather begining last winter so if you live where it rains there will be more of it- if you live where it does not there will be more of it...buy some cute Wellies and take massive doses of vitamin D- turn on the light box- snuggle into some tea and toast regularly. I live in the rain, too, I intend to take that advice! could have purchased some adorable Wellies in venice so much choice there- but could not transport them in my carry on- no room for anything really so I came home empty handed and ill.POO!
Beautiful photos. The sun has come out here too. After a lot of rain, and I mean a lot, the sun is such a welcome relief.
I hope you've had a good weekend!
yay for sunshine!!!
These are lovely! May the weather gods continue to bless you! :)
Isn't it amazing the power sun has to lift our spirits in an instant? Hope you're enjoying the lovely weather!
Funny how that is, eh? I like the contrast, but both are so beautiful, too.
Beautiful photos! I like that you both photographed winged things, on the same day. The two of you clearly have a very deep connection.
The sun shone all day today in Amsterdam... and as that's just a stones throw from you (in the great scheme of things) I hope that means it shone all day for you too.
And, I very much enjoyed your 'colour week' posts. So many shades of colour within each colour - beautiful!
Well, you might feel better to know that it is raining here now! (just drizzling, but still). In South Africa!! xxx
sigh. oh how absolutely breathtaking! so jealous of your sunshine. it's been nothing but dreariness here. :( i'll have to live vicariously through this fabulous photos!
winter in south africa looks mighty fine to me! wow, you and your sister live so far apart, but isn't it amazing that you can digitally share your days with each other as if you were next door?
Divine pictures.
