I think we dream so we don't have to be apart so long.
If we're in each other's dreams, we can be together all the time.
Calvin & Hobbes
I dreamt that I was flying over the Namibian desert. All I could see were the sand dunes below but somehow I knew it was Namibia. I was aware of the amazing thermals rising from the ground and it felt like I was dancing in the air - somersaulting and twirling. It was exhilarating. But best of all I knew that when I crossed the border I would be close to seeing my family. I was still wearing my pyjamas but I was sure they wouldn't mind. I wondered if I would see flamingoes and hoped I might do, so that I could take my sister one of their beautiful coral-coloured feathers. But I didn't.
Then I woke up. And it was 3:18am.
For a moment on waking I still felt excited and close to the people I love, and full of the joy of flight. It was a good dream.

What a wonderful dream. Check everybody you dreamed about out. I'll bet they felt you being close to them too. Next time try to wake up around 6 a.m. that means you have some extra time of sleep :-)
Hope your day will be as great like your dream was.
that is an amazing dream! I love that you held on to the emotion of it while still awake.
Home is calling you! Flying and dancing in the thermals - what a beautiful way to get there...
According to dream moods.com: Flying in your dreams signifies you have risen above something, gained a new perspective and because you were in control of your flight and destination, that you have gained a personal sense of power.
Food for thought...
by the way - love your quote from 2 of my favorite little guys!
love that quote...
That is a beautiful dream! It is fantastic that you can remember your dreams after you wake up. I seldom do, but if I feel happy when waking up, I know it must have been a good one. If I have this sick feeling in the pit of my stomach I know it must have been a horrible one. Sometimes I remember glimpses of those ... (PS. Weird, I have just posted about waking up at 2 a.m.)
Oh that is lovely! I sort of live in my dreams, they are better than my waking life- and i dream alot and remember them all day, they linger...I especially love the flying effortless gliding dreams and the visits from loved ones long gone. My dream heart is full- you really must get back home soon in waking life- renew your spirit, girl. Having lived in England ( much like here, actually) I realize that the sog and grey can enter the dog eared pages of memory and wear them till they become dim. A shiny polish is in order, I think...Meet you there???
Sounds a lovely dream, though shame about the time! Seems like you're missing home and family?
Wow, were you flying in a plane or just flying alone? Flying in dreams is very exhilerating, and I always interpret it to mean very positive, empowering things! What a great dream!
i understand the scenery your are describing. i love that feeling of being close because of a dream. i have experienced it a few times and each time, i snuggle up a little deeper into my duvet and allow the moment to linger a little longer.
loved reading your alter egos and the great photo mosaics with them!
Beautiful dream...
This sounds amazing! Hold on to this one. It sounds like something you want to keep close to you...that sense of home.
the joy of flight...yes... definitely the best kind of dream!
a coral coloured feather

what a lovely gift!
Re your comment on my blog, yes! It took me a year to get around to getting new glasses as well. It's just one of those things you know you should tick off but it gets pushed back for no reason!
Such a lovely dream, gave me some goosebumps reading it! I think you miss your family dearly...
Isn't it wonderful when you wake up after a lovely dream!
Namibia is still on my list of places to visit - in real life and in my dreams!
Kendalee that is a beautiful dream and a beautiful quote.
I think it is a true dream.
