Whirligig...

I'm in there somewhere... whirling and twirling... in a colourful blur...

Hello lovely people, I hope this finds you all well and happy.

I've missed you!

I arrived home from a great whirly-girly, shopping-spree-ly, love-and-laughterful week in London late on Sunday night to a request that I travel to Newcastle as soon as possible to provide some support to a colleague. A project deadline moved while I was on leave, requiring a quick redistribution of resources (me being one of them), so I left on Monday morning on the 6.40am train...

Talk about hitting the new working year running. It felt a bit like aspects of jetlag, that vaguely out-of-body-'cause-I-moved-too-fast-to-bring-all-of-me-along feeling that happens when one transfers from one physical location (and emotional space) to another too quickly. Only not quite as much fun 'cause I wasn't waking up in some exotic destination and able to catch up with myself by taking a leisurely walk along a beach. I did see a full moon under a complete rainbow arc though. Pretty cool. More of that tomorrow when I will produce the photographic evidence...

Unfortunately, in my rush to unpack and repack, I left without my laptop cables so have been disconnected and not even able to check in to say "hi" after work. It has felt really bizarre to be away for so long and I've realised how relaxing I find being able to come and hang out here.

Alongside chocolate, a good cup of tea and going for a swim, this blogsphere is apparently a great de-stresser for me. I really missed it.

Thank you to all who've stopped by to say hello - I so look forward to catching up with you in your lovely spaces...

And whatever you've been up to, I hope your January is off to a great start - not too whirly, just right.

welcome back! It's tough to not have a transition time when one gets back from traveling. Sounds like you had a good time. :)

You must be like the energizer bunny- going and going! If I had a fraction of your energy I might get something accomplished, i might do some felting (burned out at the moment) I might clean house ...I might pay my bills...
So glad you have returned in good nick!

Welcome back! Being without the internet is pure hell....but I must admit I get a lot done without it. BTW the photos in your side bar are lovely.

Wheeeeeee! I was wondering where you were! Although you have been dumped into the New Year a bit unceremoniously, at least you must be well adjusted to it now, whereas some others (who will remain nameless) are still poking our toes rather gingerly into the water, testing out 2009, not too sure whether we should enter!

Heidi - Transition time makes such a difference but it's not always possible, is it? Oh well, I did have a GREAT time, thank you!
Sebrina - Thank you for stopping by :) Time spent with loved ones ('specially those one doesn't see often enough) is wonderful indeed. I tried to soak up and relish every second!
Tiffany - catching up slowly! Virtual worlds deserve to go on holiday too, especially to NZ and Borneo ;) Hope you have a fab holiday!
Harper - thank you! :) Isn't the picture gorgeous? Afraid I didn't take it but wish I had...
Linda Sue - my energy levels are naturally not as high as I need them to be sometimes. I would much rather be able to just mooch around a lot of the time and often crash at the weekends - and am not very productive then. At all. Hope you find your felting mojo again soon...
Robyn - true, the internet can suck one in if not careful, hey? I don't guilt myself too much about it in winter tho, when I'm likely to be snuggling indoors anyway. Glad you like the sidebar pics - they're some of my favourite memory triggers!
Lisa - London was fabulous! I thought of you often and have a few things that occurred to me to mention for your visit later in the year...
Claire - how exciting! I LOVE real mail, that's not bills or junk, don't you? I will definitely e-mail you... Isn't that picture amazing. I wish I'd taken it but it just summed up my feelings perfectly!
Alex - thanks! :)
Anairam - too true! I tend to plunge in then spend time gasping and spluttering with shock from the cold! Pros and cons for both approaches I guess. Hope the toes are enjoying the water testing? Planning to jump in soon? :)
