Greetings lovely people!
Home from the conference in Newcastle and this is what I saw...

[Click to enlarge if you'd like a closer look]
- Beautiful pre-dawn as seen from a cross country train, heading North East
- It's a four hour trip each way so some en route entertainment helps pass the time - a guilty pleasure - House, season four
- I prefer rail travel where it's an option - not dissimilar but somehow more comfy than flying and, in this case, quicker
- Time for reflection
- Newcastle skyline from a 7th floor conference suite - enjoying the winter sunshine between their presentations and mine - unfortunately didn't get to see much more of it than this
- I need to keep toasty to function - pashminas get me through winter - and colour and pattern warm up my inner day no matter what the season
- Amber, wood, seed and shell - textures from Africa - a distraction if boredom sets in, although this session wasn't too bad
- Day two - sunset from the 17:40, heading South West towards home
Looking forward to a few days in my own space before I need to set out again. Next week, Glasgow...
Right now, sleep. I hope.
P.S. Pics of the weekend wedding to follow once the official photographs have been published

your pashminas are gorgeous! glad you made it back and can decompress in the comfort of your own nest.
Those pashminas! So lovely!
Sticking to a theme - REALLY beautiful pashminas! Is that a Mac I see - yours?
Gorgeous pictures!
I love riding trains! It is a more relaxing mode of transportation to flying. I actually find the time quite pleasant. Boy boy, you're one busy gal, traveling here and there!
What do you do for a living? Conferences galore!
trains and sunrises...sigh...
Traveling is always fun! Hope you are sleeping well inbetween!
I say hello and you say goodbye!
Such a busy time even standing still! Love that your camera goes along with you so we can enjoy your travels as well. Beautiful shots!
Lovely to see Newcastle in the sunshine. I'll be heading that way in January. My children still live there.
Oooh and I did get to visit the Gudren Sjöden shops whilst in Stockholm. We found ourselves in 2of them just by chance. I loved their socks, lovely and cosy and toasty, and my friend loved the scarves.
Liked your mosaic!
Oh, from your pics your life looks very glamorous!! I suppose the reality is a little different, but to a proofreader working from her little study-cum-laundry-cum-art-studio-cum-guest-room and who often doesn't meet the people she works for, it looks glamorous, believe me!
Beautiful photos!
lovely pics :) looking forward to glasgow!
Lala, Lisa, Stephanie & Bruce- Thank you, I do have a bit of a thing for them and a little collection is developing... Just can't resist the colours and textures. But I reckon a girl can never have TOO many? ♥
Bruce - MAC, not mine, I just borrowed it for the trip, but I'm definitely a convert!
Alex - thank you :o)
MK - I work in learning and development for a large charitable organisation & am sometimes asked to speak or facilitate sessions at 3rd party events, like conferences. I love my job but the travelling can be a exhausting sometimes and this has been an especially busy quarter.
Claire - Lovely individually and a great combination, I agree!
Freshly Found - It is fun Denise and I love it (mostly). Still not doing too well on the sleeping front so looking fwd to unwinding properly over Christmas!
Linda Sue - Feeling ever so slightly like a hamster on a wheel right now but this blogosphere helps ground me 'cause wherever I am, you are out there and I can share what I see and do. I love that!
Lynne - I don't often see the sunshine in Newcastle and it is pretty! Glad you were able to check out the Gudren Sjöden shops. Loved your pics of Stockholm!
Anairam - Not very glamorous I assure you but I don't mind it usually. Working from home has pros (and cons) too. Wish we could have the best of both and none of the downsides! Or just better balance? :o)
dolcechic and Cut Copy Paste - how lovely that you both dropped by - thank you! I have enjoyed looking at your blogs - always enjoy a new discovery!
CCC - some pressure to present glasgow well to a home town girl... :o)
