It's beautiful floaty silk - feels absolutely gorgeous on - and I think will suit blonde, brunette and redhead, which is good 'cause that's what we're working with.
The other option being considered is this one - but with a different, brighter sash, tied to hang down the back instead of with a bow in front... The thought then being that the little girls (two of them) would then wear dresses in the brighter sash colour.

This last one actually looks slightly darker in these pictures than in reality and might be a better style for the variety of shapes and sizes that we are. I've tried them both on and I have a leaning towards the first one but am happy to go with the majority and what the bride ultimately prefers on all of us.
Either way, it's going to be a fun, relaxed affair and I'm always happy to wear a pretty dress.
Perhaps teamed with these...

Deffinately the first one! the second one looks matronly and would you EVER wear it again? To wear either one must have nice, non flappy arms and a decent back- no moles or droops- tricky! Maybe that is why I am never in a wedding ...anyway, LOVE the first one, very pretty!
I like them both but the first may just win out as it probably does suit more body types.
Thank you and YES you are absolutely right!
I also like the first one better, but maybe because the colour is brighter and more festive. (I actually quite like the back of the second dress.) It is fun to pick out something for a special occasion isn't it? What are you going to do with your hair? Up, down?
Glad you agree and I think the first one's getting thumbs up from some of the other bridesmaids too so that's good news! Of course, it'll be up to the bride to choose in the end so we'll wait and see... I honestly don't mind wearing whatever she decides on. I've already experienced the lowest of low bridesmaid dresses - a baby blue slipper satin monstrosity, accessorised with baby pink... leg-o-mutton sleeves, big frill on neckline, pink rosebuds, pink plastic bead necklace, white shoes... It was hideous! Anything by comparison will be wonderful! :)
