Brief journeys - 11/11 - down to London town

1. 5.30am to Euston - it's still pitch dark and cold, cold, cold

2. Tea, banana muffin, my journal, a little reading material, and more than an hour en route to enjoy them - suddenly being awake at this hour feels like a holiday

3. To maintain concentration it's important to stay hydrated and not be distracted by sunlight dancing on the table - I fail miserably

4. An afternoon meeting in the Square Mile - it's nostalgic to be back on old stomping grounds

5. Shopping for special paper is one of my very favourite things to do - I don't resist temptation well

6. Regent Street is already wearing her Christmas tiara - and it's started to rain, which adds more sparkle

7. Friends are fun - and good for the soul, specially when taken in liberal doses

8. I don't miss moving at the speed of blur - not at all

9. Indeed - can't say it better than the name of my pendolino carriage does...

I love your brief journeys - although I wouldn't REALLY like to be out in weather like that! (We too have an extraordinarily wintry day today - storm winds, rain spattering on the windows, weird!) But London, oh how I miss my brief but lovely stay there!

nadia - The hearts are paper - the texture is like slightly waxy papyrus - isn't it gorgeous? I couldn't resist. And it does look good enough to eat!
linda sue - London creeps into ones heart and never quite leaves I think! Let me know some of your favourite spots and next time I go I'll try to take some pics of those for you... x
freshly found - denise, it really is a dream destination, isn't it? Always rewarding to visit! I hope you make it over soon...
anairam - true that the weather was awful - had my umbrella blown inside out twice - but it just gives one more reason to go into shops and galleries to escape it! I hope you get to visit again one day and add some more lovely memories! :)
alex - the week's not going too badly, thank you. Whizzing by though!
