Brief journeys - long shadows and luscious light

The sun was very low and the air was cool and already a little damp. It smelt of loamy earth and fallen leaves and warm brick. And I was blissfully alone.

There is a harmony

In autumn, and a lustre in its sky,
Which through the summer is not heard or seen,
As if it could not be, as if it had not been.

Percy Bysshe Shelly

1792-1822

so serene, calming colours, a bit of a chill, a curl up with a hot cuppa and a good book mosaic of shots...Really beautiful! I would like to make "pretty" one day...

ps. I am serious about sending felted flowers your way...IF you want them.

linda sue - It was very peaceful so I'm glad that the pictures convey that... And "yes please!" to the felt flowers - how exciting! Thank you!!!
anairam - you're lovely to say that, thank you! I really do enjoy doing this and maybe that shows? Helps to have a really beautiful place to photograph as well though doesn't it?
nadia - your photographs are SO beautiful, so I'm thrilled that you like these, thank you! The house is called Bosworth Hall and it's in Leicestershire, near a town called Market Bosworth. Most famous I believe for being the location of the deciding battle in the War of the Roses (15th century). It really is a beautiful old building - inside and out!

I honestly can't think of anything more lovely...I live for these quiet moments alone with my camera.

mcis - autumn does have such a calm feeling about it, doesn't it? It's my favourite season for that.
mrs.french - if only we could carve out space for more of these quiet moments. But maybe they're so special for being quite rare?
