Today I’m preparing for #the100dayproject, which starts tomorrow. I’ve been mulling on it, sought input from others, and have settled on my plan. I enter this with a mixture of excitement and trepidation as it’ll be my third attempt! I bombed out at 32 & 57 days respectively in the last two years. This year, instead of choosing a specific activity, I’m going with a theme and planning to explore it through a combination of writing, readings, photography & art. Hoping this will be what’s needed to keep me showing up for the 100 days. Showing up is the point and showing up is the challenge. 100 times.
“They” say it takes 21 repetitions to create a new habit and 90 to create a new lifestyle so the maths speaks for itself. I believe it‘ll be interesting (new experiences always are for me), challenging (witness 32 & 57 days), and probably even transformative in some way (100 steps around the spiral are bound to take me somewhere I’ve not been before) but mostly, I’d like to hit the 100 mark.
I toyed with #100daysofnavelgazing as the theme but even as a Navel-Gazing Olympian I couldn’t face that so I’m going for a combination of internal musings and external observations. We’ll see where it takes me. The main thing is to stick with it for 100 days.
The other aspect is to post about it, track progress, mark the days - it was an Instagram thing to begin with (and still is) but I doubt I'll post there every day so my plan is to use this space for that. It's a nice quiet corner now and I like quiet corners.
