Perfumes are the feelings of flowers.
Heinrich Heine
(1797-1896)
If that's true then these roses must be feeling really, really, really good!
The yellowy-orange ones are from a florist (hardly any scent), all others are cut from the garden (a blend of the most beautiful deep and subtle perfumes). I'm not a fan of rose-scented products but real roses... divine! Don't think I've ever smelt such a delicious bunch.
I hope the techy bods are working on a smell-o-version of Blogger. I'd love to be able to upload and share scents here as well as sights and sounds. Today, the ocean, my spicy masala chai, these roses... they'd all go up. Wouldn't that be amazing? Give them time... the techy bods. I don't discount it. Nothing seems impossible these days.
I hope that wherever you are, you have a lovely Friday, and find time to smell some roses...

Lilac was what got me today-some near my car where we parked for our vivits this morning. And I also managed to talk to the head at school about the amazing deep pink and beautifully scented roses near his office and the nursery garden. I want one! He has actually thought about this-which I was quite impressed by. He wants one, and then for people who have worked there a long time to be given one-people like me! Hurray! Hope it survives.
I quite like rose scented products-as long as they are good ones, but nothing beats the real thing!
Today I'm enjoying the scent of newly mowed grass, freshly baked crusty bread and slightly spicey butternut soup. Mmmmmm....
Your roses smell like strawberries, because that is what I am having for breakfast, along with your blog...Heart you!
roses, lilacs....all to come yet. The tulips are almost blooming but they don't smell. Right now what I smell though is coffee and freshly cut grass....with a hint of fabric softener from the laundry outside. Thanks for bringing them to my attention. I agree with you about rose-smelling products though.
