Today I'm feeling grateful at a very basic level.
I'm grateful for those little everyday things that I carry in my bag, which either make my life a bit more comfortable - like my Burt's Bees lip balm - or are just plain practical, a pleasure to use, or make me smile - like my cheerful little chocolate milk recycled purse, which is all three of the latter.
Other things that qualify are a Muji notebook and coloured pens, a small pack of tissues, a beautiful and tactile keyring, and a lovely rich hand cream (at the moment I'm loving this one from M&S)... all items I use and enjoy every single day. Being able to have these things that I like is a small luxury, for which I am thankful.

I like this Thankfulness series, Kenda. Sometimes it is good to reflect on the things that are positive and bright and joyful, even when they are simple. I do this too seldom. The contrast thing in your previous post is so true - the one cannot exist without the other: left and right, beauty and ugliness, good and evil, sad and happy, up and down. I am reading a book on Zen philosophy now - a bit of a struggle for me to get my head around some of the concepts - have just finished a few paragraphs on exactly this. Anyway, keep well, dear friend.
oh how i love burts bees! i cannot handle fall and winter without burt!!
i love the little chocolate milk purse too!
Lip balm and hand cream are a must for me too.
I know what you mean. It is these little things that keep us going sometimes I think. I am enjoying your thankfulness series too. Also the other day, you almost-almost, made me want a kindle!
How dull life would be without those little luxuries. Lemon grass soap, Visi magazine, Lindt chocolate ... a bowl of freesias.
