I've only managed one and two...

To live in this world you must be able to do three things: to love what is mortal; to hold it against your bones knowing your own life depends on it; and, when the time comes to let it go, to let it go.
Mary Oliver

i have glimpsed your story and in it, there is definitely letting go. perhaps it happens slowly, but the opening of the hand and the heart is part of the fuller movement is it not?

to be patient with ourselves...

this is perhaps the hardest thing to let go of. the hardness on ourselves.

time, only time, will give you the ability to let go.

Skipping two so three would be easier is a sad mistake. Doing one and two makes three almost impossible to bear. But not loving at all is the saddest.

Love your thoughtful quotes. And those wonderful photographs of the sea.

Yes, letting go is not easy. The Buddhists say it is grasping or attachment that is the cause of our suffering. But we are human, after all, and so it is very, very difficult to let go.

Mary Oliver has such a way with words that we just don't need them. She does it for us.

Slowly, slowly, Kenda.
