My little wheelie bag has been earning her keep this week as, after returning from the Channel Islands, I've been travelling again for work and now I'm home only very briefly to repack, pick up my tickets, and then head out to the railway station once more. I have a few days leave starting this afternoon, which I will be spending with friends, first in London and then at their home in the country over the weekend.

I'm looking forward to festive lights, pretty department store window-dressing, a little seasonal shopping... then, crisp country air, snuggling in front of a cosy fire, lots of friendly chat, a game of Scrabble or two, and perhaps a glass of something bubbly... all lovely stuff.

But before I leave, I just wanted to pop in to say hello and to quickly to wish my American family and friends a very, very happy Thanksgiving.

And to give thanks myself...
