It never rains...

The rain to the wind said,
'You push and I'll pelt.'

They so smote the garden bed
That the flowers actually knelt,
And lay lodged--though not dead.
I know how the flowers felt.
Robert Frost
(1874-1963)

I don't consider myself a pessimist. I think of a pessimist as someone who is waiting for it to rain. And I feel soaked to the skin.
Leonard Cohen
(1934)

This being the case, I've decided to just stop trying to keep dry and dance around in it, twirling a pretty umbrella...

Blissful time spent catching up on your lovely, uplifting, thought-provoking blog, Kendalee....

Thank you so much, again, for visiting mine and for your comments, which alway hold such resonance.

Yes, I think it's really important not to keep striving to stay dry! FAR better to twirl - and to sing and dance and share the love and laughter.

sometimes twirling really is the best solution ... rain or not!

All of your comments are having such a good time in the rain...I must rain on the parade, I am compelled to do so...only a few more days of non rain here and then it will be incessant so forgive me for not sharing your delight! I have a new umbrella and my old rain coat...I am ready, pessimistic, if you will...not looking forward to the dark damp chill that is the Pacific Northwest...Maybe we could drop in on Anairam for a couple of months...Of course we would behave, of course we would take violet creams and toast to her...of course we would enjoy the South African sunshine and good company- I think I recall Anairam inviting you- I would tag along, under cover as your assistant...I cannot stop the rain, no matter how much I moan- must find a way to cope.
I like your umbrella- mine is as drab as the rain itself- perhaps I should buy a bright happy one, like yours.

What a sweet umbrella....so cheery in the gray of rain.

I love that quote from Leonard Cohen.

two days ago, it was pouring down when the time came for me to go collect Em from school. I grabbed the first umbrella i could find and ran out of the door - only to realise halfway there that there were two big holes at the top of the umbrella through which big fat drops of rain were dripping on to me. :)
