Goodbye, goodbye, I hate the word. Solitude has long since turned brown and withered, sitting bitter in my mouth and heavy in my veins.
R.M. Grenon
There are no good-byes, where ever you'll be, you'll be in my heart.
Mahatma Gandhi
Is solace anywhere more comforting than in the arms of a sister.
Alice Walker
Sisters function as safety nets in a chaotic world simply by being there for each other.
Carol Saline
Farewell, my sister, fare thee well.
The elements be kind to thee, and make
Thy spirits all of comfort: fare thee well.
William Shakespeare
My sister's gone and summer's left the air. I don't think they're connected but both are true.
I don't want to sound ungrateful because my heart's full and I'm so thankful for our time together. Special happy girly-twirly time. But oh, it went so quickly. Too quickly. I wasn't quite ready to say good-bye.
So today I feel just a little sad.
But the dance continues, and soon we'll celebrate the official arrival of autumn. It's my favourite season. I love the colours and the textures, the quality of the light and the feeling in the air. I love breaking out hats and scarves and blanket throws... For me it's a time of happy cocooning, of outdoor beauty, of indoor fun, and inner growth. I'm looking forward to it. Lots of good stuff to enjoy.
I'm also pleased to be back in the blogosphere. And I have the whole weekend to catch up on what I've missed. I'm looking forward to that too.
I'll see you out there I hope... or in here. Either way, I'll be happy.

Lovely to see you back! Time passes all too fast but it is good to have lovely memories. It is really autumnal today isn't it? I was actually cold this morning.
Have a good weekend.
Yes, it is extra sad this year to tell summer goodbye. It has been one of the best summers I can remember. Enjoying your past posts and all their color.
Welcome back. Fall is my favorite times too.
Oh My Darling Kendalee! YAY! So good to see your voice! Of course your time spent with your sister was and will forever be wonderful- it's not best to have sisters live so far from one another.
I usually think of Autumn as my favorite but seeing the summer end is really making me edgy- probably because of the horrendous winter we had last year...I dread what's in store so I can not seem to be in the moment- inexcusable!
YAY, You're here! Cheers and toast!

Parting can have that sharp tang of sadness, but there's always the coming together again to look toward.
j'adore vos mosaiques, très créatives!
So good to read you again. And I am glad you had a lovely time with your sister -- I miss mine so as she recovers from the death of her husband...I think I'll pass on to her your Gandhi quote -- it is one to engrave on my soul as well!
withdrawal from sparkly times leaves me contemplative at best...it's a good thing I think. it helps me focus on good times ahead while safely tucking away beautiful memories in my heart.
I'm so happy you had a wonderful week with your sister. you deserve such good things and it makes me smile when I read about them.
happy you are back! missed you :)
A particularly beautiful photo montage today, Kendalee. Autumn is my most favourite season too. I can feel how sad you must be feeling but lovely memories I'm sure. Glad you had that time together.
a beautiful goodbye to summer - it's ended so quickly here too! i have a feeling we'll have a resurgence in september, but this morning we're in sweaters and jeans. glad to have you back.
Happy Memories. Happy Autumn!
I have missed you last week - it almost felt like winter without you. Hey, wait, it WAS winter. No actually, in all honesty, spring is on its way - I can hear it knocking on the front door and the whales have arrived. But dear Kendalee, I am so happy that you had a great time with your sister, and very glad that you are back with us! Here's to a great autumn for you!
I am happy to have you back :)
I was delighted to read your sweet comments on my blog, and then find this inspiring mosaic here!
Have a great week!
i read a book last year, and it reminded us all to treasure our family members as they are the holders of mutual memories and secrets, how important it is to have a good relationship over the years, so that you can share when ages hits and friends and lovers fade away
how lovely to hear about your having a week alone with you sis
Hi Kendalee!
Welcome back to the blogosphere. I have missed your beautiful words and your gorgeous pic.
Thank you for following my blog.
sisters and summer...so hard to let go, I am thinking of you this day and smiling at the images you so artistically weaved into your mosaic
I'm glad you had such a good time.
I'm having a hard time saying goodbye to summer too. I don't usually, but for some reason it's harder to let it go this season.
Hmmm and the smell of autumn and the crisp, cold, misty mornings opening into warm, bright afternoons. I love it too.
Yes, hard to say goodbye. But good that you had one-on-one with your sister and loads of twirly memories.
