Postcard from London Town

In a few short hours I'm going to be catching my dolphin-drawn chariot out of here for the weekend...

I'm looking forward to time spent with dear friends (one of whom used to be family by marriage and continues to be family of my heart), enjoying a West End show (I have no idea which one, it's a surprise. How wonderful, I love surprises!), and perhaps seeing Richard Long's Heaven and Earth exhibition at Tate Britain (I love the Tate and his work) which I missed last time I was in town.

There is rain forecast for the entire weekend (hence the dolphin chariot instead of the butterfly one), so I will definitely be packing my brolly and my water wings, but it all promises to be lovely and I can't wait. London beckons.

How I wish I could meet you there, to explore and enjoy some of these things together (what great fun that would be!) but as it's short notice and that means you may not make it in time for this particular visit, what I'd love to do instead is send you a postcard... A little piece of London Town, from me to you. If you'd like to receive one, please leave me word (and send your postal address on to kendalee.paintedlady@googlemail.com), and I'll happily pop one in the post for you. Happily!

And in the meantime, wherever you are, whatever you're up to, I wish you a very happy Friday!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend! If I still lived in London I'd be at the Richard Long exhibit in a flash... but as I won't be able to see it in person I am very much looking forward to reading your thoughts on it here after your return :)
Have fun!

Richard Long's work sounds fantastic - I don't know him - one is so removed from international art here - but I do like the description of him as a solitary walker and how he subtly alters the landscape by making marks, etc. Enjoy the exhibition, dear Kendalee, and if you see any friends I know, say hello for me. Oh, just say hello to the entire London for me!!
