great company + lovely setting + scrummy food = picnic perfection
Even if some of the details vary, we apparently all agree on the formula! Thank you to all who shared their picnic perfection with me - what a treat it was to soak in all that lovely stuff.
I'm definitely going to host a virtual picnic here on the 24th of June to celebrate Midsummer's Eve and you are ALL invited! There'll be lots of lovely food and drink; gentle sunshine; absolutely no gnats allowed; a full moon, fireflies and fairy lights once the sun goes down; optional dancing or lounging 'round the bonfire, and a guarantee of no rain until we've moved indoors. So dust off your picnic gear and start planning your picnic partywear...
In the meantime, it gives me great pleasure to announce that the corresponding numbers (in order of entry) for the following people went into the whizzy number cruncher thingy:
- Dagmar
- Claire
- Dawn
- Heidi
- Beverly
- Renee
- Sheila
- Sarah
- Shelly
- Heather
- Robyn
- Kamana
- Sandy
- Lisa
- Denise
And these are the ones it chose for the Summer giveaway:

Woohoo! I get such a thrill out of that moment when I hit the selection button, knowing that no matter whose numbers it picks, there'll be lovely winners. I always wish only that I could send something to everyone and decided to have two winners this time (in the spirit of a bountiful Summer season), so congratulations to Shelly and Heidi!!!
I'm very excited about getting a little something summery off in the post to both of you. Heidi, I'll be in touch, but Shelly, please drop me an email at kendalee (dot) paintedlady (at) googlemail (dot) com with your postal addresses as you did not leave a link to contact you through...
To everyone else, thank you for playing and I hope you'll come back for the Autumn edition.

Thank you!!! I'm delighted! A picnic and a win!
Look forward to the picnic!
We hold an (almost) annual summer solstice party in our garden as close to our anniversary (June 25) as possible... sometimes up to 150 people, children running and hopping in sprinklers, parents gathered in groups drinking wine and eating a stunning array of potluck dishes. Jerry is in charge of the music and those that are so inclined dance until the sun goes down. Little lights hang from the trees, and citronella torchiers illuminate bare feet, swirling skirts and little ones curled up in their parent's lap.
Thank you for the lovely invitation, and I will be sure to be there. The lovely picture I have of Beverly's annual summer solstice party conjure visions which spur my imagination on. Looking forward to the event!
: ) i love your childlike glee kendalee!
