Grace
Characteristics:> independent, elegant, sophisticated, erudite, provocative
Life with Grace:> accomplished, confident and independently wealthy, she lives her life both gracefully and graciously. Although she has a fiery temper when provoked, she very seldom flares and does not bear a grudge. Free to pursue her passions she contributes to and volunteers on philanthropic and conservation projects around the world, as well as travelling extensively for pleasure. Believes firmly in quality not quantity so she always takes carry-on luggage only but flies first class when going long-haul. She prefers if possible though, to travel by boat or train - far more sedate and civilised. She has a small, chic apartment in London but is equally at home in Cape Town, Positano, Zanzibar or Sydney and hosts fabulous dinner parties and weekend getaways for her friends and family, wherever she happens to be. She always has fresh flowers in every room of her home - gardenias, frangipani and lilies are her favourites - and the finest Egyptian cotton linens on her bed. Grace is beautifully groomed at all times, fit and sleek - works out 3 or 4 times a week - and dresses simply but elegantly in silk, linen and cashmere. She has a bit of a weakness, in equal measure, for beautiful lingerie, stylish handbags and very high-heeled shoes. She enjoys the finest foods in the best restaurants and has a great collection of wines laid down in her personal cellar. When not engaged in her heartwork (or socially) she entertains herself with scuba diving, theatre, film and reading. She also loves dancing and can Tango, Rumba and Waltz like a pro.
Grace believes that freedom and responsibility are two sides of the same coin, that small acts of consideration and kindness can have profound consequences, and that grace is to be found by a generous heart. These are things that Grace and Peggy can agree upon but otherwise, they are more often at odds with one another.
Grace's favourite quotations:>
Straight is the line of duty;
Curved is the line of beauty;
Follow the straight line, thou shalt see
The curved line ever follow thee
William McCall
Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace and gratitude.

I long to accomplish a great and noble tasks, but it is my chief duty to accomplish humble tasks as though they were great and noble. The world is moved along, not only by the mighty shoves of its heroes, but also by the aggregate of the tiny pushes of each honest worker.
Helen Keller
I am opposed to millionaires... but it would be dangerous to offer me the position.

out of curiosity, i had to come over here from anairam's 'toast post'. i love your alter egos - so creative! i wish grace could be one of mine, but alas, i am a klutz!
Great to get to know all of you!
Oh, I want Grace's life! She sounds very glamorous - but also fun to know. How did she make the money to support her lifestyle - can she let us into her secret?
Grace- indeed! She would be my girlfriend and I would ride on her coat tails taking tips from her as we go. She would forgive me my earthiness, my comfort shoes, because she sees potential and our intellectual conversations maintain her interest.
All three characters spark an urge in me to illustrate...most inspiring and fun. Love your writing Ms. K! The mosaic is wonderful and very GRACE! She is pleased,as are we!
I think you need to write a book...some adventure with all the alter-egos playing a part.
I would love that.
Aimee - how lovely to meet you - thanks for popping in. I just went to visit your blog and my Amy is in love with your art! I knew Amy was a good name for an artist! I'm sorry to say that I'm a bit of a klutz too. I aspire to be more like Grace though... :o)
Denise - Thank you!
Anairam - I know, isn't it fab? I'm very envious too! Unfortunately for us, she inherited an enormous fortune from one of the men she met and had a brief but intense liaison with on one of her adventures (she's terribly discreet but I believe she's had several) and now it just makes money for her through sound investment... Even the credit crunch doesn't seem to be affecting her too badly. Lucky girl!
Linda Sue - Oh she's not a snob at all and I reckon you'd be great companions and travel buddies. She loves people for their differences not despite them and she puts up with me (very graciously) although I'm definitely not in her league in so many ways! I'd love to see illustrations of these girls through your eyes... Please do share them if you feel so inclined.
Lisa - I might just do that... :o) They'd get up to some mischief if flung together on a page, that's for sure.
