Living like a Peacock
I passed this lovely narrow boat on my walk along the canal this morning.
I didn't like to take too many pictures as - despite my penchant for peeking - it felt a little rude to be pointing my camera into someone's floating lounge or bedroom window. Especially before 8am in the morning. Normally I would ask permission but there wasn't anyone around to ask. Still, I couldn't resist snapping off a few to share.
Isn't the Peacock pretty?
I find the idea of living like this quite appealing. Moving along the canal system at a leisurely pace, mooring in a variety of interesting places and choosing between city or country living from week to week. And the person who lives on this boat is clearly a creative soul. The sort of neighbour I'd like to have and invite to cross my gangplank for tea...

this is the kind of experience i would love to try once : live on a boat or just doing a small trip on it...

something i envy...

hi Lala, how lovely that you came by to say hello - thank you! I love this idea too and some of the boats on the canals near where I live are available to rent so I really have no excuse for not trying it, even if just for a day! :o)
Yes, I do dance tango... I only started taking regular classes at the beginning of the year so am still a REAL beginner but I love it! Have you ever tried it?
I would love to experience living on a barge for a month or two, it sounds like such a wonderful thing to be able to do, something totally different....love the bright colours PS Enjoyed your peek at London, thanks for sharing your trip with us:)
bronwyn, sounds like a lovely way to spend an extended summer holiday doesn't it? Not sure I'd fancy it as much in winter but I'm assured they have all the mod-cons in terms of heating nowdays, so maybe it'd be a nice cosy winter retreat... Mmmm...
