A boy and his dog

I love this picture of my littlest nephew and his dog, Rufus, taken on a day spent down at the lake on their farm. They are so obviously devoted to one another.

We should probably have been discouraging him from kissing Rufus on the nose or something but, frankly, I think a few germs shared make for a closer relationship. And who'd want to discourage that? I think as long as Rufus isn't kissing him back, we'll just let it go...

It always makes me happy to look at this.

The picture was taken by my sister. She has a real eye for a candid portrait and I wish she would explore this talent more. In the meantime, I just enjoy those that she takes for us.

This is such a lovely picture! I am not usually crazy about bull terriers, they frighten me a bit, but how can one not love these two cutie pies? (Your sister certainly has talent ...)

I agree anairam, not my breed of choice either. Usually too much brawn and not nearly enough brain for my liking! But Rufus's a really sweetie - not a vicious bone in him. Great friend for a little boy, not great as a guard dog, which was his first job description! I like him better this way though.
