Brief journeys - brooding churchyards, lichen, and the smell of cut grass...

This week I was working in mid Wales...

It's a weird old place.

But I like it.

I would so much like to visit Wales one day, it's always been one of my dreams, possibly because I have a Welsh name I've always felt an affinity for the country.

Lovely lichen! It kind of connects with your more recent post about the Joan Richardson textile art work!

oh bronwyn, i can relate to that and i do hope you have the opportunity to see Wales one day - it is gorgeous!!
anairam, you're right, i hadn't noticed that specifically but i guess the influence of nature pervades so much of what i'm attracted to. also love anything richly textured and lichen is so lovely that way, isn't it? :o)
