Some time ago, I bought this felt flower corsage from local textile artist, Emma Jackson.



Today I wore it and was struck by how, whenever I put it on, I feel my spirits lift. It is so beautiful.

The photograph does not do it justice really - the texture and the detail is exquisite. The seed beads catch the light, the felt is rich and gorgeous. And it's orange.

I love orange. I know that it would be many people's least favourite colour but I love it. It reminds me of Africa, the home of my heart. And it is (for me) the colour of creativity.
